1) What total amount is the SA Post Office (SAPO) set to save annually from the (a) 40% pay cut to SAPO employees and (b) 6 000 retrenchments; (2) What total amount has been collected from the penalties that SAPO branches need to pay for not meeting service standards in the past four financial years? (1)

(a) 40% salary cut all employees                                   R1 078 405 519 (annually)

(b) 6 000 employees                                                     R1 139 217 297 (annually)

(2) SASSA only started to charge penalties from the 2020/2021 FY. Penalties to the value of R75 624 598 have been imposed on the SA Post Office from 2020/21 FY to 2020/23 FY.
