(1) What is the current status of the investigation into GAS 158110/2016 opened at the Amersfoort Police Station in Mpumalanga; (2) whether any suspects have been (a) questioned and/or (b) arrested; if not, in each case, why not; if so, what are the relevant details in each case; (3) what are the names of the investigating officer(s) that was or were assigned to investigate the charges; (4) whether the case has been finalised; if not, what is the envisaged date for the finalisation of the case; if so, what are the details of the outcome of the case? Reply:
(1) Amersfoort GAS 158/10/2016 - Malicious damage to property is closed and filed at the station.
(2)(a) One suspect was questioned and his warning statement taken.
(2)(b) No suspect was arrested.
(3) The particulars of the investigating officer cannot be divulged to ensure that the case is investigated without fear or favour.
(4) The investigation is finalised. The case docket was submitted to the Senior Public Prosecutor, who declined to prosecute.
