Matsepe, Mr CD to ask the Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs
(1)Why did a certain official (Mr K Ngema) ignore the memorandum from the Legal and Administrative Services department of the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipal Council (which in paragraph 5 refers to the supply Chain management Policy details furnished) by allowing the bid adjudication committee to continue awarding said tenders as recommended by the bid evaluation committee, in terms of the bid adjudication committee’s delegated powers; (2)Whether his department will take any action in this regard; if not, why not; if so, what are the relevant details? Reply:
- No, as stated in my response to PQ2015/2459, I am not aware of these assertions.
- Again as stated in my previous response to PQ2015/2459, I intend writing to the MEC responsible for local government in Gauteng, in terms of Section 106(4)(b) of the Local Government: Municipal Systems Act, 2000 (Act No.32 of 2000), requesting him to commission an investigation into the matter.
