Mbabama, Ms TM to ask the Minister of Rural Development and Land Reform
How much land does (a) her department and (b) the entities reporting to her (i) own, (ii) have exclusive rights to and/or (iii) lease from the State to (aa) use and/or (bb) occupy?
Reply:
a) (i) DRDLR owns approximately 13 588 879 hectares.
(ii) DRDLR has exclusive rights to approximately 2 222 920 hectares.
(iii) (aa), (bb) DRDLR does not lease from the state to use and occupy.
b) (i) ITB owns approximately 2 000 000 hectares.
(ii) ITB has exclusive rights to approximately 2882000 hectares.
(iii) (aa), (bb) ITB does not lease from the state to use and occupy.
