Final Committee Report on Ex-Mineworkers: adoption postponed

The Committee Report could not be adopted because committee members in attendance at the meeting did not form the required quorum.
Meeting report
Due to the poor turnout by Committee members for the meeting, the Chairperson suggested that those present should go through the report without adopting it.
Mr E Mtshali (ANC) disagreed with this. He felt that going through the report without adopting it would be an exercise in futility since Committee members would still have to go through the report before adopting it whenever the Committee met again.
The Chairperson and other members of the Committee agreed with Mr Mtshali and gave the Committee secretary a directive to correct the mistakes already pointed out in the report at the previous meeting. The Committee secretary was asked to prepare a second draft of the report so that Committee members could examine and adopt it at the next meeting.
The meeting was adjourned until 26 March subject to confirmation by absent members of the Committee.
