MINUTES
The Chairperson opened the meeting by commending the Members on their efforts and contributions to the Children’s Bill.

Committee Programme
The Chairperson asked the Committee Secretary to take the Committee members through its programme for the remainder of 2007 and early 2008. The bulk of the Committee’s work during the rest of 2007 would focus on annual reports, and consideration of its own reports and minutes.
 
The Committee considered the Programme and adopted it, making provision for future amendments.

Committee Report on Western Cape, Gauteng and Northern Cape Oversight visits
The Committee continued its deliberations on the Report. Adoption would only take place once the Report had been finalized.

Adoption of minutes
The Committee could not adopt the minutes of its previous meetings, as scheduled, due to time constraints.

The meeting was adjourned.
