ELECTION OF NEW CHAIRPERSON
Nominations for the position of chairperson were requested. Mr Vilakazi nominated Mr Mluleki George of the ANC. As there were no further nominations, Mr George was duly elected. He accepted the position and called for all members to unite across party lines to help solve the crime problem. He requested that crime not become a politicized issue. The opposition parties congratulated Mr George on his appointment.
