The Committee convened physically to adopt its legacy report encompassing the Committee’s work and activities in the Sixth Parliament, 2014-2019.
Meeting report
The Portfolio Committee On Tourism considered and adopted its Legacy Report for the Sixth Parliament. Members were taken through the amendments, page by page, following suggestions made in the prior meeting where the first iteration of the report was presented https://pmg.org.za/committee-meeting/38430/
They then moved for the adoption of the Legacy Report with minor amendments.
The Chairperson further informed the Committee the SA Tourism (SAT) Board has been finally appointed, comprising six females and five males. The Board represented what was required in terms of the Tourism Act. Another appointment was that of the finance chief of the entity, Ms Nombulelo Guliwe, as the CEO of the entity. The Chairperson attributed these changes to the pressure exerted by the Committee to ensure the Executive was held accountable.
Members of the Committee welcomed these appointments.
