Meeting report

The Chairperson said they would not wait for Mr Pravin Gordhan, Minister of Public Enterprises, to join the meeting.

The Chairperson started the meeting and the Minister joined minutes later.

Before they continued with the meeting, he said that the Minister made several claims and requests for the meeting. The Members were asked to sign non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), and the Minister wanted the meeting to be held in private.

The Chairperson said that they did not agree to sign the NDAs and stated that the Committee meetings were public meetings and that the meeting was not going to be held in private. He said that the information that the Committee requested was not for personal gain but for a legitimate public purpose.

The Chairperson asked the media to be excused from the meeting and said they would be called back into the room when they concluded the meeting.
