Finance Standing Committee
The Standing Committee on Finance invites you to submit written submissions on the Insurance Bill [B1 – 2016].
The Insurance Bill aims to:
▪ provide for a legal framework for the prudential supervision of insurance business in the Republic that is consistent,
▪ where relevant, with international standards for insurance regulation and supervision;
▪ introduce a legal framework for microinsurance to promote financial inclusion;
▪ replace certain parts of the Long-term Insurance Act, 1998, and the Short-term Insurance Act, 1998;
Public hearings will be conducted at Parliament on Tuesday, 7 February 2017.
Submissions and your indication to make oral presentation must be received by no later than 12:00 on Friday, 3 February 2017.
