Eskom Exemption

The National Treasury invites comment on a proposed exemption for Eskom Holdings SOC Ltd from including particulars of irregular expenditure and fruitless and wasteful expenditure in its financial statement for a period of three financial years (as required by section 55(2)(b)(i) of the Act and Treasury Regulation 28.2.1). The comment should preferably be in respect of the technical aspects of the proposed exemption that relate to the applicable accounting principles, including oversight and preventive measures to reduce the scope of corruption.
