2023 Eskom Debt Relief Bill

The Standing Committee on Appropriation (National Assembly) invites you to make written and/oral submissions on the 2023 Eskom Debt Relief Bill. The said Bill was tabled with the 2023/24 national budget by the Minister Finance on 22 February 2023. The Money Bill Amendment Procedure and Related Matters Amendment Act, Act No 13 of 2018 requires Parliament to conduct public hearings and to report on all Bills.

The 2023 Eskom Debt Relief Bill (the Bill) seeks to provide for a direct charge against the National Revenue Fund for debt relief for Eskom Holding SOC Ltd, and to provide for matters incidental thereto.


Submissions can be emailed to Mr D Arends at [email protected] by no later than Friday, 21 April 2023 at 16:00.

Public hearings on the Bill will be conducted via virtual media platforms by the Standing Committee on Appropriations on Wednesday, 26 April 2023.
