The NCOP resumes after the two-week Easter constituency break. The term will run until early mid-May.

The main focus will be finalising as much outstanding priority legislation as possible. There are 27 bills before the NCOP: 3 on the NCOP Order for consideration by the House and 24 in Committees.

Amongst others, this includes three finance bills, the Pension Funds Amendment Bill, Climate Change Bill, BELA Bill and Public Procurement Bill

According to Parliament's Rules, business before the legislature lapses when the term of that Parliament ends or when Parliament is dissolved.

When a bill or other matter lapses, the new Assembly can revive it through a motion in the House. Such motions sometimes state that the matter be revived "from the stage it reached on the last sitting day of the House (of the previous House)...."

The Deputy President will also make an appearance for his final Question Time Session during the term

The National Assembly has largely concluded its business and is officially on constituency break. However, one or two sitting days are expected to be arranged to pass several bills, particularly those passed by the NCOP with an amendment. Also, a handful of portfolio committees will likely schedule the odd meeting to deal with any pressing matter.
