Nominations: National Library of South Africa Board Members

The Minister of Sport, Arts and Culture calls for the nomination of suitable candidates to be considered for appointment to the Board of the National Library of South Africa (NLSA). A chairperson and six to eight of these members will be appointed in their personal capacities to serve on a part-time basis.

Nominations
can be emailed to Mr Hanyani Shibambo at [email protected] by no later than Saturday, 17 August 2024.

Remuneration of Board members is in line with the remuneration scheme guidelines of the National Treasury.

Nominees must have knowledge of or experience in the following field(s):

• Strategic management of library and information services;

• Information and communication technology in the library and information sector;

• General management and administration;

• Finance; legal; corporate governance;

• Fund-raising, advocacy, and the ability to raise awareness of the NLSA.

The nomination form must be completed in full and signed by both the nominator and nominee.

The nomination form must include the following annexures:

• A motivation for the nomination, with the full names and contact details of the nominator, explaining the nominee's suitability for appointment in terms of the criteria stated above and providing the names and contact details of three contactable referees for the nominee.

• A brief statement signed by the nominee, in which he or she agrees to the nomination.

• A brief curriculum vitae (CV) of the nominee,

• Certified copies of qualifications and ID document.

No nomination will be considered unless all of the above are included.
