Report of the Portfolio Committee on Public Service and Administration on Budget Vote 8 (Public Administration Leadership and Management Academy) for 2009/10, as adopted on the 11 February 2009

 

The Portfolio Committee on Public Service and Administration received a briefing by the Public Administration Leadership and Management Academy (PALAMA) on Budget Vote 8 for 2009/10, on the 28th January 2009.

 

PALAMA’s budget comprises of R61 000 000 allocated to it by means of Parliamentary Budget vote allocation, and R177 000 000 from income and receivables on its trade account. The total budget for PALAMA is thus R238 000 000. The Budget is allocated amongst PALAMA’s programmes as follows:

 

1.)     Compensation of Employees: R52 000 000

2.)     Goods and Services: R180 000 000

 

PALAMA has budgeted a surplus of R6 000 000 for the 2009/10 financial year. The Committee was satisfied with the briefing it received by PALAMA on its budget for 2009/10.

 

Recommendation

 

The Portfolio Committee on Public Service and Administration recommends that the National Assembly adopts Budget Vote 8 for 2009/10.
