Report of the Select Committee on Communications and Public Enterprises on the iKamva Digital Skills Institute Bill [B 10B – 2018] (National Assembly – sec 75), dated 20 March 2019:
 

The Select Committee on Communications and Public Enterprises, having considered the subject of the iKamva Digital Skills Institute Bill [B 10B – 2018] (National Assembly – sec 75), referred to it, reports that it has agreed to the Bill.

 

Process followed by the Committee

 

The iKamva Digital Skills Institute Bill was referred to the Select Committee on Communications and Public Enterprises on 4 December 2018.  The Committee received a briefing from the Department of Telecommunications and Postal Services on 6 March 2019.  The Committee advertised the Bill inviting all interested stakeholders to submit written submissions, and requesting them to indicate whether they would like to make oral submissions to the Committee or not.  The invitation was advertised over a period of three weeks, from 15 February to 8 March 2019, in national and regional newspapers in all 11 languages, on radio, as well as on the parliamentary website. 

 

Even though the Committee did not receive any written submissions on this Bill, it deliberated on the Bill on 13 and 20 March 2019.
