Report of the Portfolio Committee on Justice and Correctional Services on the Protected Disclosures Amendment Bill [B40 - 2015] (National Assembly – section 75), dated 14 June 2017
 

The Portfolio Committee on Justice and Correctional Services, having considered the subject matter of the Protected Disclosures Amendment Bill [B40B- 2015] National Assembly – sec 75, recommitted to it and classified by the JTM as a section 75 Bill, reports the Bill with an amendment [B40C- 2015]  

 

The Amendment is as follows:

 

CLAUSE 1

1.         On page 3, from lines 33 to 35, to omit all the words from “being” up to “offence”, and to insert:

“being subjected to any civil claim for the alleged breach of a duty of confidentiality or a confidentiality agreement arising out of the disclosure of—

(i)         a criminal offence; or

(ii)         information which shows or tends to show that a substantial contravention of, or failure to comply with the law has occurred, is occurring or is likely to occur;”.
