Report of the Portfolio Committee on Communications on the filling of two vacancies in the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) Council, dated 3 May 2017
 

The Portfolio Committee on Communications (the Committee), having considered the request from the Minister of Communications to approve the appointment of two persons to fill two vacancies in the ICASA Council, reports as follows:

 

A letter dated 27 March 2017 was received from the Minister of Communications, requesting approval by the National Assembly of Ms Palesa Kadi and Advocate Dimakatso Qocha for appointment to the ICASA Council in terms of section 5(1B) of the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa Act (No. 13 of 2000), as amended.

 

 

On 3 May 2017, the Committee considered the request from the Minister of Communications and recommends that the National Assembly approve the appointment of Ms Palesa Kadi and Advocate Dimakatso Qocha to the ICASA Council.
