The Department of Environmental Affairs briefed the committee on 20 November 2013 on the National Environmental Management: Integrated Coastal Management Amendment Bill [B8B - 2013]. The Bill was referred to the committee on 05 November 2013.

The Select Committee on Land and Environmental Affairs, having deliberated on and considered the subject of the National Environmental Management: Integrated Coastal Management Amendment Bill [B8B - 2013] (National Assembly – sec 76), referred to it and classified by the JTM as a section 76 Bill, reports that it has agreed to an amended Bill [B8D – 2013]

CLAUSE 5

1. On page 5, in line 39, to insert ‘‘or’’ after the semi-colon.

2. On page 5, in line 40, to omit paragraph (g) .

3. On page 5, in line 42, to omit ‘‘ (g) ’’ and to substitute ‘‘ (f) ’’.

CLAUSE 6

1. On page 7, from line 39 to omit subsection (9) and to substitute with the

following :

‘‘(9) Land reclaimed in terms of this section forms part of

state-owned land which may be alienated in terms of applicable

legislation . This provision shall not apply to land which has been

lawfully alienated prior to this provision coming into effect.’’
