The Portfolio Committee on Communications, having considered the subject of the Electronic Communications Amendment Bill [B 17 – 2013] (National Assembly – sec 75), referred to it and classified by the Joint Tagging Mechanism (JTM) as a section 75 Bill, reports the Bill with amendments [B 17A – 2013].

The Democratic Alliance proposed the following amendments which were subsequently rejected by the Committee:

CLAUSE 32

1.         On page 16, in line 24, to omit “may” and to substitute “must”.

2.         On page 16, after line 48, to insert the following paragraph:

(g) surveys and research undertaken by the Council must be made available to the public.
