Tenth Report of the Committee on Public Accounts on the unauthorised expenditure of the Presidency, dated 24 August 2011.

 

The Committee on Public Accounts (the Committee) considered and heard evidence on the unauthorised expenditure of the Presidency in relation to the 2008/09 financial year, and reports as follows:

 

1. Background

 

The Committee notes that unauthorised expenditure totaling R14, 511 000 incurred during the 2008/09 financial year relating to a number of items. The Committee notes that the Presidency was allocated additional funding of R10, 351 000 in the 2008 Adjustment Estimates. Furthermore the Presidency received a roll-over allocation of R7, 471 000 from the 2007/08 financial year.

 

2. Recommendation

 

The Committee recommends that the amount of R14, 511 000 of unauthorised expenditure relating to the 2007/2008 financial year be approved without additional funding. The unauthorised expenditure is to be funded from the Presidency’s budget.
