Trollip, Mr A to ask the President of the Republic
(1) What are the reasons that the Special Investigating Report on the Investigation into the Former Department of Justice and Constitutional Development, as declared by Government Notice No 42992 of 3 February 2020, Proclamation Number R7 of 2020, has yet to be publicly released; (2) by what date does he envisage the specified report will be released?
Reply:
The Final Report of the Special Investigating Unit (SIU) on certain affairs of the Department of Justice and Constitutional Development pursuant to the publication of Proclamation Number R7 of 2020, was received by the President and sent to the Department of Justice and Constitutional Development to implement the recommendations in the report.
The release of the report to the public at this stage will compromise the processes which the Department of Justice and Constitutional is currently undertaking. The release of the report can be considered after the Department of Justice and Constitutional Development has finalised these processes.
