The number of children of school going age on the system of the Department of Social Development per province is as follows:

As April 2020, EC has a total number of 81 006 children under the age of 18 years placed in Foster Care can be regarded as following within the school going age (Early childhood development, primary and high school). It must be noted that this number only refers to the number of children placed in Foster Care as confirmed by SASSA-SOCPEN database. |
