What are the reasons that vocational training received by prisoners in the correctional system is not accredited by sector education and training authorities (seta);
Reply:
- The Department of Correctional Services offers access to Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) College Programmes in partnership with Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET), and receives funding from various Sector Education and Training Authorities (SETAs) , e.g. SASSETA and the National Skills Fund (NSF) to address training needs of offenders.
DCS is currently having the following accredited training centres for offenders in the following Regions:
