Election of new Public Service and Administration Chairperson

Meeting report

A special meeting of the Portfolio Committee on Public Service and Administration was convened for the formal election of the new Chairperson, as required by Rule131 of the National Assembly Rules. Present were Mr N Gcwabaza (ANC), Ms M Matsomela (ANC), Mr B Mthembu (ANC) , Mr A Nyambi (ANC), Ms P Tshwete (ANC), Mr I Julies (DA), Mr K Minnie (DA) and Mr S Simons (National Alliance) called for nominations. Ms Mr I Julies (DA) nominated Ms M Matsomela (ANC). This was seconded by Mr S Simons (National Alliance).

Ms M Matsomela was unanimously elected as Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Public Service and Administration, in the absence of other nominations,

Ms Matsomela thanked all in attendance and anticipated a fruitful working relationship.
