SUMMARY
The Committee looked closely at its Limpopo visit Report. It was decided

briefly, and would be adopted at the next meeting following further
consideration.
MINUTES
Committee Report on Limpopo visit
Committee Members reported that some changes had to be made in certain
paragraphs of the Report. People would
be disadvantaged if they used the current report, which consisted of only three
pages, as it was very vague. Members agreed that the eleven page Report would
be used. The Chairperson stated that amendments would only be proposed to the
agreed upon document.
Members were concerned that the role of ABSA Bank was not captured accurately
in the Report. It was agreed that ABSA’s
assistance in improving the community’s infrastructure should be
acknowledged. The Chairperson agreed and
noted that the community should learn how to approach the bank for assistance
while being educated with the necessary information.
The Committee proceeded to discuss the document in detail. Slight changes were made and certain
paragraphs were removed as they were decided to be of no relevance to the Report. All paragraphs dealing with local and provincial
government issues were to be removed.
The Chairperson suggested that a full forum be held the following day in which
amendments would be proposed and the Report would then be adopted.
Committee Report on North West visit
The Chairperson stated that the Report fell under the same category as last
year’s Report, and thus recommendations and its adopted would be considered on
the following day. Members agreed.
Committee Report on Free State visit
The Chairman suggested that Members’ recommendations be consolidated and
inserted at the end of the Report. The Report would then be considered further
and adopted on the following day. Members agreed.
Committee Report on the Gauteng visit
The Chairperson noted that no amendments were proposed to the Report.
Concluding remarks by the Chairperson
The Chairperson stated that recommendations and amendments would be looked
at the next day, after which the reports would be adopted.
The meeting was adjourned.
