MINUTES
The Committee adopted the minutes of the 30 May and 6 June meetings with no amendments.

The Chair noted that the fishing industry was not fully complying with the Constitution The Committee agreed and they felt there was a need to get clarity on the working conditions of fishermen. It was noted that some employers were not even registered and employees were not in a position to access legal assistance when they needed this. The Chairperson said that he would set up meetings with stakeholders on the matter and it would be discussed at the Committee's 20 June meeting.

The meeting was adjourned.

1. Opening

The Chairperson opened the meeting at 09:00. He then indicated that the main purpose of the meeting was to adopt the committee's report on Budget Vote 27.

2. Adoption of Committee Report on Budget Vote 27
The Chairperson tabled the report for consideration and adoption. Ms R Ndzanga moved for adoption and Ms C Zikalala seconded the motion.

The committee adopted the report with the following technical correction:
(a) Insertion of the letter R before all the figures used in the report.

3. Closure
In his closing remarks, the chairperson thanked members for attending the meeting and declared the meeting closed.

4. Adjournment
The meeting adjourned at 9: 15

1. Opening and Welcome
The Chairperson opened the meeting and welcomed everyone present. He then indicated that as the reports on Budget Vote 27 and international study were not yet ready for consideration, the main purpose of the meeting was to consider the report ,on the Joint Strategic Planning Workshop held with the Department of Environmental Affairs and Tourism and its public entities on 13-14 March 2006 at the Lord Charles Hotel in Somerset West.

2. Adoption of the Report on Joint Strategic Planning Workshop
The Chairperson tabled the report for consideration and adoption. The Committee: considered the report and Dr Cachalia moved: That the Committee adopts the report with the following amendments:

(a) technical correction on page 5
(b) recommendation on briefing on hunting regulations made Mr. G Morgan.

Ms M Ntuli seconded the motion.
The Committee agreed to the report with amendments.

The Chairperson further proposed that the report be debated in the House.

The proposal was agreed to.

3. Closure
The Chairperson thanked Members for attending and declared the meeting closed.

7. Adjournment
The meeting adjourned at 9:45 until 13 June 2006.
