SUMMARY
The Committee elected a new Chairperson, Ms T Tobias (ANC).

MINUTES
Mr G Campher, Committee Secretary, invited members to nominate candidates for the position of a Chairperson.

Mr S Ntuli (ANC) nominated Ms Tobias and Mr O Monareng (ANC) seconded the nomination. After being elected, Ms Tobias thanked the Members.

Discussion
The Chairperson said that the tabling of the oversight report would be discussed later.

Mr M Booi (ANC) said that as Members had not been given the report prior to the meeting, it counld not be discussed.

Mr Monareng suggested that a team of four Members be appointed who could compile a report on the oversight visit to the DRC.

Mr Mngomezulu (ANC) seconded the suggestion and suggested Mr Booi, Dr Koornhof (ANC) and two members from the opposition parties. The Committee unanimously agreed.
