SUMMARY
The Committee considered its Reports on its Third Quarter Expenditure for 2004/5, its Fourth Report Expenditure from March 2004 – March 2005 and its hearings with the Departments of Health, Education and Public Works on the Appropriation Bill. However, it was unable to pass the reports as the meeting was not quorate. The reports would be passed at the next meeting.

MINUTES
The Chair noted that the Committee did not constitute a quorum, because NCOP Members were attending the Select Committee on Finance meeting. He proposed that the Members present instead go through each of the reports to familiarise themselves with the subject matter in preparation for the next meeting.

Committee Report on its Third Quarter Expenditure Report 2004/5
The Chairperson noted that the Committee had already considered this Report, but it could not be passed as the meeting was not quorate.

Committee Report on Departmental Expenditure from March 2004 – March 2005
The Chairperson noted that the Committee had affected a few technical amendments to the Report. He requested the Research Unit verify the figures and the requests for government departments.

Committee Report on Appropriation Bill hearings
The Chairperson reminded Members that the Committee had decided to hold hearings with the departments responsible for some of government’s priority projects, namely the Departments of Public Works, Health and Education. Unfortunately the Report could not be passed because the meeting was not quorate.
