Meeting report

AD HOC COMMITTEE ON THE APPOINTMENT OF THE AUDITOR- GENERAL
9 November 1999
PREPARATION FOR INTERVIEWS

MINUTES
Ten letters requesting references from the candidates were sent out but only six responses have been received thus far. Accordingly, there could be no report- back on references and a meeting was scheduled for Friday for this purpose. Another meeting, relating to the actual interview process, was scheduled for Monday.

The Chairperson stated that it was his opinion that the interviews should take place in the form of closed proceedings for the purpose of not causing the interviewees to feel awkward. The committee decided that the interviews would be closed to the public.

It was indicated that there was funding available to fly in the interviewees who were not in Cape Town and that the invitations in this regard would be sent out this afternoon.

The interviews are planned to be approximately 45 minutes to one hour long.

The committee have agreed on a questionnaire (containing approximately 8 - 9 questions) which would serve as a standardised list for the members. Any discretionary questions could be added.

The meeting was adjourned.
