SUMMARY
Initially the Committee had agreed to send a large delegation to the Northern Cape and a smaller delegation to Western Cape. It had then agreed to go as a united large delegation to either province, instead of splitting Members into two teams. The idea was to best accommodate new Members of the Committee who were learning ropes, without domination by more experienced Members.

MINUTES
The Chairperson reported that the Committee had agreed to send a large delegation to the Northern Cape and a smaller delegation to Western Cape. She suggested that they could go as a united large delegation to either province, in order to best accommodate new Members of the Committee who were learning ropes, without domination by more experienced Members.

Mr N Godi (PAC) agreed that the Committee go as a large team, but he was also concerned about the financial implications. The Committee should not be restricted from going to any areas of its concern. The Chairperson replied that for this financial year, the Committee had enough financial resources.

Mr G Oliphant commented that it was vital to ascertain the availability of Committee Members in time.

Mr M Mzondeki (ANC) agreed with Mr Godi that a large team be sent to one province. However, Members could be split into various areas of the province to dealt with particular concerns.
