The Committee went over the report.
Minor amendments were made to the report.
In 5.1, the Committee requested for the quarterly and annual reports on the Law Enforcement Advancement Plan (LEAP), which forms a part of the Western Cape Safety Plan.
An additional resolution, 5.4, noted that the Committee congratulate the Department of Community Safety for achieving 90% of its target and for achieving a clean audit for the 2021/22 financial year.
The Committee moved for the adoption of the report with amendments.
Meeting report
The Committee considered and adopted minutes dated 30 August, 7 and 28 October 2022.
Minor amendments were made.
On the minutes for 30 August 2022, an additional resolution, 4.5, was made which states the need for engagement with the Gauteng Provincial Legislature’s Community Safety Committee to discuss oversight on firearms, ammunition destruction and lack of forensic testing.
