Mr Bhengu thanked Members and then went through the proposed programme.

Ms C Ramotsamai (ANC) was of the view that the proposed DPW Strategic Plan 2004 schedule for 26 May 2004 should involve stakeholders such as the Department, the Minister and the Deputy Minister. Mr S Opperman (DA) agreed and further proposed that the Provincial MEC's should also be involved in the Strategic Plan.

Mr Bhengu noted that the Committee agreed that the Strategic Plan should be open to all relevant stakeholders. The details would be finalised in the next Committee meeting on Wednesday 19 May.

Mr Opperman requested that the Committee should also consider the issue of security, noting that his motor-vehicle was stolen when parked inside the parliamentary premises.

Mr Bhengu noted that issues around security would also form part of the Committee's programme, and Mr Opperman's case would be look at by the Committee. Members unanimously agreed.
