Meeting report

The Chairperson welcomed Members to the virtual meeting to consider and adopt Committee minutes and the programme for the third term.

Minutes dated 14 June 2022 were considered and adopted.

Third Term Programme

The Committee Secretary took Members through the programme. The term would start on 2 August 2022. Next term, the Committee would deal with the Children’s Amendment Bill, provincial engagement on the Children’s Amendment Bill, Local Government Week and Taking Parliament to the People. The term would run until the end of September.

The Chairperson added that the Chairpersons were called to a meeting by the House Chairperson to state that all outstanding legislation must be dealt with.

The Chairperson said the Portfolio Committee was still busy with the National Health Insurance Bill so it will not be considered by the Committee next term.

Members approved the third term programme.

The Committee Secretary provided Members with an update on the international study tour – the House Chairperson approved the application but the Committee was still waiting to hear from the Koreans.
