MINUTES
Ms Lungiswa Matshikiza, the Committee Clerk, invited nominations for the Interim Chairperson. Professor Kader Asmal (ANC) was nominated and elected unapposed.
The Chairperson expressed appreciation and that he would like Committee decisions and conclusions to be reached through consensus. He said the Committee would have two sub-committees, the first dealing with foreign affairs matters, and the second dealing with the African Union (AU). The following week they would meet to discuss these sub-committees and to elect a vice-Chairperson.
He said that by 18 June, the budget process should be completed.
The meeting was adjourned.
