ELECTION OF CHAIRPERSON
Nominations for the position of chairperson were requested. Mr R van den Heever nominated Professor S M Mayatula of the ANC. As there were no further nominations Prof Mayatula was duly elected. He accepted the position and called for all members to forget their political differences and focus on education. The opposition parties congratulated Prof Mayatula on his appointment.
