Final interview shortlist of SABC Board nominees (included in the minutes)

MINUTES
The chairperson said that he was pleased with the calibre of people who accepted to be nominated to the SABC board. He proposed a shortlist of forty. Ms Vos (IFP) suggested that they interview all existing board members of the SABC that were nominated. The committee agreed that the ten board members of the SABC be interviewed.

Section 13(2)(c) of the Broadcasting Act (No 4 of 1999) requires that a shortlist of candidates for appointment as members of the Board be published. These names will be published in the Government Gazette.

The following persons, who were nominated by members of the public, were shortlisted for interviews by the Portfolio Committee on Communications in open meetings at Parliament, Cape Town, from Monday_, 8 November 1999, to Tuesday, 16 November 1999:
