Election of Chairperson

Nomination for the position of chairperson were requested. Mr I Mohamed nominated Dr M W Serote of the ANC. As there were no further nominations Dr M W Serote was duly elected. He accepted the position and called for all members to work together as a team in addressing nation's priorities. The new chairperson suggested that different parties should come up with their proposals so that when the committee meets they can discuss and come up with one proposal. The opposition parties congratulated Dr M W Serote on his appointment and they assured the chairperson that they will give him their support.
