ELECTION OF COMMITTEE CHAIRPERSON
SUMMARY
Adv Holomisa from the African National Congress was the only candidate nominated for the Committee Chair, and was therefore appointed.
MINUTES
Mr Johnny Ramrock, the Portfolio Committee secretary, started the meeting. Under section 129 of the National Assembly Rules, he invited nominations for the position of Portfolio Committee Chairperson.
Mr Hanekom, (African National Congress) nominated Adv Holomisa. Mr Botha (Democratic Party) seconded the nomination.
Mr Ramrock asked for further nominations. As there were no further nominations, he congratulated Adv Holomisa on his election, and requested he take the Chair.
Adv Holomisa thanked the Portfolio Committee for electing him.
The meeting was adjourned.
