The meeting could not commence as a quorum of members were lacking.
Mr Bloem apologized on behalf of members to the National Council of Correctional Services representatives including Judge Seraaj Desai and Mr Koekemoer.

National Council of Correctional Services
Judge Desai accepted the apology but requested the committee assistant to note down issues, which he wished to place on the committee's agenda when the briefing was to take place.
The issues were the following:
-Possible release of prisoners with life sentences
-New parole provisions

The meeting was postponed to a date that was yet to be determined.
