SUMMARY
The Committee adopted the National Small Business Amendment Bill.

MINUTES
Mr Lionel October, Deputy Director General, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), informed the Committee that the purpose of the amendments was to repeal all provisions pertaining to the National Small Business Council which became defunct three years ago and to establish an Advisory Body to represent the interests of small business. The amendments change, streamline and overhaul Ntsika by taking away its policy making and research functions in order for it to focus its activities on small business support. The Bill also sought to make the Public Finance Management Act of 1999 applicable to the Ntiska Enterprise Promotion Agency (Ntsika) and
The Committee examined the Bill clause by clause and then formally adopted the Bill without further amendment.
