The Committee considered the draft Report page by page.

The Draft Committee Report on the Financial Implications for the State was adopted without amendment. The motion for adoption was moved by Ms D Dlakude (ANC) and seconded by Prof N Khubisa (NFP).

Draft Committee Minutes dated 14 March 2018

The Committee considered the draft minute page by page.

Members made minor grammatical amendments and requested that some of the sentences be reviewed by the Committee Secretariat to ensure the content was accurately reflective of discussion at the meeting of 14 March 2018.

Draft Committee minutes dated 14 March 2018 were adopted with amendments by Adv B Bongo (ANC) and seconded by Mr N Singh (IFP).

Discussion

Dr C Mulder (FF+) asked whether the National Assembly would debate both the Committee Report and the Bill itself.

The Chairperson was of the view that the House would move straight to debating the Bill. The debate would take place on 27 March 2018.

Dr Mulder imagined the Report would still be introduced. He did not want any surprises during the debate.

The Committee agreed.
