Meeting Summary
The Select Committee on Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, in preparation for the upcoming Budget Votes the following week, considered the 2015/16 Annual Performance Plans for the departments of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs and the report on Budget Vote 4: Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs and the Committee agreed to the reports. The Committee further considered the 2015/16 Annual Performance Plan of the Department of Public Service and Administration and Budget Vote 10: Public Service and Administration and agreed to the report. Members of the DA, having raised their concerns on the use and understanding of the phrase ‘considered the report’, abstained from the consideration of the report.
Meeting report
The Chairperson asked Members to consider the following reports: Department of Cooperative Governance Annual 2015/16 Annual Performance Plan, Department of Traditional Affairs 2015/16 Annual Performance Plan and Department of Public Service and Administration 2015/16 Annual Performance Plan.
Members of the DA raised concerns that the phrase “consideration of the reports”, was confusing and reserved their rights to comment. The reports would be debated in the NCOP House. The remaining Members agreed to the reports.
