Consideration and adoption of Committee Report on the 2012 Division of Revenue Amendment Bill [B33-2012]
The draft Committee Report dated 2 November 2012 was circulated to Members.

Mr M Swart (DA) suggested changes to improve the grammar in paragraphs 3, 3.1 and 4.

Mr Swart proposed the adoption of the report, as amended.  Mr G Snell (ANC) seconded the motion.

Other Matters
The Chairperson said that the Minister of Finance had announced in the presentation of the mid-term budget that no additional funds had been allocated for the adjustment of budgets.  Savings amounting to R3.9 billion would be allocated to the Provinces but no additional funds were allocated to Local Government authorities.  He asked if the political parties wanted to debate the matter in the House.

Mr Swart suggested that the Chairperson present the Committee Report to the House.  The Democratic Alliance would not request a debate but would be making a declaration about certain aspects.  The Democratic Alliance supported the Division of Revenue Amendment Bill.

Mr Snell understood that the matter would be dealt with by the House on 20 November 2012.
