The Committee considered and the Budget Review and Recommendation Report. Members were satisfied with the report and only made minor changes to it.

Meeting report

The Chairperson informed the Committee that the purpose of the meeting was to adopt the Budgetary Review and Recommendations Report. Thereafter, she asked the Committee Secretary, Ms Lindiwe Ntsabo, to read over the report. She further noted that the first page of the report contained information regarding the role of the Committee and the documents that were used to compile the report.

Ms Ntsabo read over the Report and highlighted various programmes and projects which came under the Committee’s jurisdiction. The Report also highlighted the funds that were used for each individual programmes. The Report examined the initiatives undertaken by the Committee on tackling corruption and possible mismanagement. The Report further highlighted the progress made by the specific programmes as seen from the lens of the Millennium Development Goals.

The Chairperson commented that the Report showed the positive progress the various programmes had made in terms of reaching the Millennium Development Goals.

The Chairperson and the Members noted some grammatical changes that needed to be amended throughout the report.

The Committee adopted the report with minor grammatical amendments.
