Meeting Summary
The Committee met to discuss its report on the Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs’ budget vote. The Chairperson proposed that the Committee study a summary of the presentation made by the Department before the report was considered. The summary had been prepared by the Committee Staff and the Committee had not had the opportunity to study it. It was therefore agreed that consideration of the report would be deferred until the following week.

The Committee agreed to discuss the report at its next meeting, and formally adopt it after having studied a summary of the budget vote.
Discussion
The Chairperson proposed that the Committee study a summary of a presentation made by Traditional Affairs.
Ms D Nhlengethwa (ANC) asked whether the Committee would have another opportunity to debate the report of Traditional Affairs prior to officially adopting it.
The Chairperson said that the Committee would have such an opportunity. He proposed that the Committee deal with the report in a meeting to be held in the following week.
Mr J Lorimer (DA) concurred with the Chairperson’s recommendation.
The meeting was adjourned.
