Committee Report on Budget Vote 15: Department of Health

Meeting report

The Chairperson gave the Committee Members five minutes to read through the Report as some of the Members had not received it beforehand.
It was pointed out that some of the sentences needed to be reconstructed. Members voiced concern that they could not recall some of the issues as it had been a while since the budget vote had been discussed.
The Committee had a short discussion about whether to specifically mention the Director-General (DG) or the Department when congratulating the latter on the excellent job done.
It was agreed that the Department as a whole should be congratulated and not the DG individually as he had a support team that worked with him.
Members corrected the minor errors and thereafter approved the Report.
The meeting was adjourned.
