Meeting Summary
The meeting was a culmination of a request made by members of the Committee last year to invite SARS to hold a workshop on Taxation. The South African Revenue Service was represented by Ms Beverley Ferguson who made a presentation on: Overview of taxation of Members of Parliament. Mr Vinesh Pillay presented on Taxation of Small Businesses; Mr Andrew Wes presented on Taxation of Large Businesses; Mr Ashwin Persad presented on the topic: Overview of Value-Added Tax and Mr Tomasek (SARS Group Executive) made closing remarks.
