Meeting Summary

The Committee met to consider and adopt the committee programme.

Meeting report

Consideration and Adoption of Committee Programme
The Chairperson noted that the Committee was scheduled to conduct oversight visits to the Northern Cape and the Eastern Cape. He suggested that the Committee be divided into two groups, with five members each. Five members were to go to the Eastern Cape and the remainder to the Northern Cape. Members could decide who would go where.

Mr W Faber (DA; Northern Cape) advised that Members be divided up according to their speciality so that when they arrived at their location they would know what they were doing. In addition, he offered to go to the Northern Cape.

Mr M Makhubela (COPE; Limpopo) suggested that a study group be established to advise on which Member should go to a particular province.

The Chairperson cautioned that the programme must still be overseen by the Management Committee before it could be finalised by the Committee.

The Chairperson briefly discussed the issues prioritised in the programme and asked whether Members were opposed to any item.

Members did not raise any disagreements and adopted the programme without amendments.

The meeting was adjourned.
