The Portfolio Committee on Labour invites interested individuals and stakeholders to submit written comments on the Labour Relations Amendment Bill [B32-2017] .

The Bill aims to amend the Labour Relations Act, 1995, so as to provide criteria for the Minister before the Minister is compelled to extend the collective agreement as contemplated in the Act; to provide for the renewal and extension of funding agreements; to provide for picketing by collective agreement or by determination by the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration in terms of picketing regulations; to provide for the classification of a ratified or determined minimum service; to extend the meaning of ballot to include any voting by members that is recorded in secret; to provide for the independence of the registrar and the deputy registrar; to provide for the appointment of an arbitration panel; to provide for the advisory arbitration panel; to provide for an advisory arbitration award and for matters relating to arbitration award; to provide for transitional provisions; and to provide for matters connected therewith.
